George Chalekian – Founder / Principal

George launched his advertising odyssey at Ogilvy & Mather in Los Angles where he learned the craft of branding on Disney, Mattel Toys, and Microsoft. He got a crash course in digital marketing in San Francisco, working at big agencies, boutiques, and everything in between. Coming back to Hawaii in 2002 he put it all together for the Hawai’i Visitors & Convention Bureau, Starwood Hotels, Hawaiian Telcom, First Hawaiian Bank, Ala Moana Center, and McDonalds during a five-year stint as Executive Creative Director at MVNP.

Seeing that the industry was rapidly changing, George launched Wind On Water to provide clients with innovative ways to solve today’s communications challenges. Along the way, George has been honored with local, national and international awards and judged local, national, and international award shows. When he’s not making waves in the advertising world George makes waves falling off his paddle board.

 

Anna Covert – Principal

Anna has worked extensively on both the client side and the agency side, fusing her traditional and online media experience into a unique and seamless approach to building next-generation marketing strategies. Anna’s experience encompasses a range of disciplines spanning account management, website development,  social media, e-marketing, retargeting, media buying, strategy and public relations for everything from well established brands like OCEAN Vodka, Times Supermarkets, Hilo Hattie, Diamond Bakery, The Honolulu Zoo Society, HEMIC, Mokulele Airlines, Wet’n’Wild, Burger King, American Savings Bank, Hawaii Pacific Health, and Solar Technologies to name a few.

Anna is passionate about the rapidly evolving digital landscape and has hands-on experience employing everything from wildly successful integrated online campaigns to applying Google Analytics to breakout online and traditional media planning. She particularly enjoys throwing her energy behind nonprofits, and has served on a range of boards and committees which benefit the local community. Anna holds a Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Bentley University of business in Waltham, MA and when she’s not making waves in the advertising world Anna makes waves in a coral pink bathtub in the Boom-Boom-Room.
